A Filipino mountain climber, Romu Garduce was able to complete the seven summits as he officially set his foot on top of Mt. Vinson Massif in Antarctic region. He was able to accomplish his quest on 6th of January at 5:45 in the morning Philippine time.

In the past ten years, he began his Seven Summit quest. He was able to conquer the seven highest mountains in the seven continents. In September 2002, he conquered Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa by the January 2005 he set his foot atop of Mt. Aconcagua which is located in Argentina.

It was in May 2006, when Romi Garduce accomplished his goal of reaching the top of Mt. Everest in Nepal. The following year, August 2007, he also climbed the summit of Mt. Elbrus in Russia and in June 2008 he reached the top of Mt. McKinley or Denali Peak.

He went to Australia to climbed Mt. Kosciuzko in December 2008 and in July 2011 he also conquered Mt. Carstensz Pyramid in Indonesia. With his recent accomplishment, the Philippines made it to the list of historic feat in the field of mountaineering.

This is another accomplishment that all Filipinos should be proud of. Only very few people were able to complete the Seven Summits of the Seven Continents of the world.

Congratulations to Romi Garduce! You made every Filipino proud!
